  45. I am sick of the ugly looking non-proportional text viewers.  So  I  decided  to
  46. write  my  own  viewer  that would be font-sensitive, and blend in with all your
  47. other nice patches, as so not to spoil the look and feel of your Workbench.
  48.  
  49.  Here are the main features of 0.3beta4
  50.  --------------------------------------

  52.  o Half a scroller window allows easier moving about documents.
  53.  o AppWindow makes loading files easy.
  54.  o Totally font sensitive, and you can select which font to view the text in.
  55.  o Tooltypes and a prefernce file(s) for customizing.
  56.  o Can open the window on any public screen and move between them.
  57.  o Uses ReqTools library.
  58.  
  59.  Here are the recent features
  60.  ----------------------------

  62.  o Text printing vastly improved.  Now a whole window redraw is not necessary
  63.    if the viewer scrolls more that one line.  The scroll is done and the lines
  64.    are just filled in.
  65.  
  66.  o May have fixed a small mistake in which the bottom border could be trashed
  67.    by the font on a redraw.  (Not the major trash if you resize too fast).
  68.  
  69.  o Window now calculates the minimum size possible it can be by the gadget
  70.    sizes.
  71.  
  72.  o Made errors output to requesters if opening the ReqTools library was a
  73.    success, otherwise outputs to the console.
  74.  
  75.  o Even more (excuse the pun ;) optimizations!!!
  76.  
  77.  o Changed the way file is loaded. This may save some memory/speed? And  it
  78.    will also mean that I can easily make changes, etc, when I work out how to
  79.    parse the file.

  81.  o If a file doesn't exist when selected by the requester, the old filenames
  82.    will be restored.

  84.  o Added font preferences.

  86.  o Added error suppression.

  88.  o 'Discovered' how to set the writemask on a rastport, so now the window
  89.    scrolls mega fast!

  91.  o Added an AppWindow, so files can be loaded by dragging icons onto the window.

  93.  o Now when you switch screens, the window dimensions aren't lost.

  95.  o Removed hard-coding to preferences file.

  97.  o Half finsihed a scroller window. Scrolling left and right will be deadly. If
  98.    anyone knows how let me know.  I have some idea, of how to do it, but it is
  99.    hard turning that idea into code.

  101.  o Now ignores carriage return characters, for PC compatibility.

  103.  o Numeric keypad support.
  104.  
  105.  o Fixed a few bugs.
  106.  
  107.  o And a few other things not worth mentioning...

  110. There are still a few things to be ironed  out  though.  Please  read  the  docs
  111. before you delete as soon as you set your eyes on it.
